Dresser and Night Stand Set

Dresser and Night Stand Set
When my son Uli got his new bedroom furniture he asked me for a dresser and night stand set.

I showed him different designs and he ended up wanting the one I had made in our Pfaff club class, he liked the design and also the finish on the border.

He was very pleased with the outcome. It is a Pfaff design and I used the wing needle and a stitch in the CV machine to make the border.

I had learned a special technique for a perfectly mitered corner from Cathy, my Pfaff dealer, and I was amazed how easy and fast it is to have perfect results every time.

Wing needles have metal flanges on either side of them that push the material out slightly as the needle dips into it. Some machines have decorative stitches that, when combined with the use of a wing needle, can create intricate patterns and borders on your sewing projects. To add crochet edges around baby blankets, use a wing needle to create the base holes around the material without having to spend time punching the holes by hand.

Viking released an update for the 3D Embroidery that now gives us the ability to add alignment stitches to any design to make it an endless border. You no longer need to use the special type that I created. Just create the design, then click on “endless” to add those stitches.
